Currency Exchange
Money can be exchanged at any authorized bank of Ukraine or in numerous currency exchange offices, they are found on almost every major street and in most hotels, airports and shops, exchange rates are generally as good as or better than in banks.
Please note that they do not exchange coins in Ukraine, so only bills are convertible. Passport is not required for exchange operations.
Worn and tattered banknotes are commonly rejected or could be exchanged only at the banks and sometimes at a lower rate. Avoid exchange money on the black-market, it can be dangerous.
USA dollars and Euros are the most popular foreign currency in Ukraine and largely accepted in exchange booths. The use of USD or Euros is officially forbidden in shops, bars and restaurants
