Curiously, the Prospect Karla Marksa (Karl Marx Avenue) is the main shopping artery in Dnipropetrovsk; there you will find plenty of department stores, luxurious boutiques, galleries, and stores of different sizes and for different income levels.

There is also several shopping places around the streets and squares contiguous to the Karl Marx Avenue; near the area at Lenin-Place is located the Central Department Store (TSUM) which is the biggest market place in the city. Next to the Department Store is a large street market.

Other important shopping centres in Dnipropetrovsk are Detskij Mir, Grand Plaza Shopping Centre, Metro Shopping Mall and many others. The Grand Plaza is an exclusive shopping centre where fashion victims will find international brands such as Esprit, Swarovski Crystal and Kenzo, at almost Western European prices. Another important trade centre is Ozerka where visitors can find goods made by local craftsmen, food, clothes, tipple, and much more. There are also large supermarkets located in residential areas far from the central part of the city.

If you want to buy souvenirs such as jewellery, paintings, Oberegi (a kind of Amulets), Rushnyky (cloths embroideries), wooden status, and other traditional crafts, the best sites are Vernisazh, Arts Salon, and Handicraft's Walk which is located in the centre of the city; there is also a great Art Gallery located at Chkalova Street, 35.

Most shops work daily from 10:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m. as in the rest of Ukraine.
